Can AI tell when my dog pooped?

A deliberately mundane test of a much larger question: can a camera understand meaningful events over hours, not seconds?

The question

I want a camera system that can understand events in spaces like a backyard or kitchen. “Did Mango poop?” is useful precisely because it is concrete, observable and surprisingly demanding.

The setup

This page is the design placeholder for the real experiment. Once the camera test runs, this section should document the hardware, footage window, sampling strategy, model, prompts and costs.
